Teriyaki Asian Wings

This wonderful recipe for Teriyaki Asian Wings was adapted from my sister’s recipe and what a treat this is.  The wonderful blend of everything makes this the perfect snack. 

Have you ever wanted a healthy snack or appetizer that was full of flavor? These Teriyaki Asian Wings won’t disappoint! The homemade teriyaki sauce is perfect for my Teriyaki Asian Wings and the main ingredient is simply cauliflower.

You read right – cauliflower. So often we want a great snack or appetizer that is simple to make. This is my go-to snack every time. I love the flavor and it really satisfies that little craving during the day.

The best part about this is you can use different sauces. I made this with teriyaki sauce. If you want to change it up, make the cauliflower, and instead of teriyaki sauce, you can use Franks Sweet Chili sauce, a homemade BBQ sauce, or even use my Polynesian sauce!

Another favorite of mine is using the Polynesian sauce. You will find this recipe under Healthy Breakfasts – Hash Brown Casserole. It is not as sweet as one would think. It has the perfect blend to make just sweet enough, but not a lot. I think you will love this as well.

Going to a party? The Teriyaki Asian Wings is perfect for any party and I guarantee you everyone will love it. I had recently made it for a few friends and needless to say they couldn’t believe it was cauliflower, and they devoured it right away.

So whether you make it as a snack, or an appetizer, you can’t go wrong. It has just the right amount of ginger, tamari sauce and rice vinegar and will set this apart from everything else. Of course I used low-sodium tamari sauce. Check the different brands for the sodium level and use the one with the lowest amount.

Don’t forget to garnish it with sesame seeds and/or green onions! As with the other, you can sprinkle sesame seeds and/or chopped green onions. Either way you will love it.

Cauliflower Prep

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Cup Almond flour

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/2 Cup agave or date syrup
  • 1/2 Cup tamari sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cup water
  • sesame seeds (garnish)
  • green onions, chopped fine


  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  2. Wash and cut cauliflower into medium bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, add water and flour, whisking together so there are no lumps.
  4. Dunk each piece of cauliflower into the batter and place each on the baking sheet. Continue until all pieces have been used.
  5. Place in oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping each piece over halfway through, then continue baking until done.
  6. While the cauliflower is baking, make the sauce. In a saucepan, combine the syrup, tamari sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlilc, ginger, cornstarch and 1/4 Cup of water.
  7. Mix well and cook on medium low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and starts to get sticky. When done pour into a bowl.
  8. Remove the cauliflower. In the bowl, toss each piece of cauliflower in the sauce, then transfer to a serving plate.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot.


This is best served fresh but will keep in your refrigerator for up to 3 days.  You will need to place back in the oven or air fryer as it will soften when stored.  This recipe does not freeze well. You can find ginger paste in the produce section at your local grocery store.
