Avocado Heavenly Treat

This little dish is so delicious, you almost want to eat it for dessert. The wonderful blend of agave and key lime juice makes this Avocado Heavenly Treat is a little piece of heaven! This is so crazy simple to make you won’t believe it.

Avocado Heavenly Treat has been one of my favorite little things to make in the am. I always thought there were only so many things you could do with an avocado. Boy was I wrong. I love putting it in guacamole, salads, plain, on burritos or other dishes, etc. I saw something similar with peaches and thought it might work for avocado’s with a tweak or two.

The original recipe I saw years ago used peaches, maple syrup, walnuts, and some seasonings. I decided to simplify it because avocado’s have such a rich taste to begin with. Using agave instead of maple syrup made the taste smoother. And since I love key limes, I used key lime juice. I started with 1/2 Tsp of key lime juice, ending up with 2 Tbsp. My Avocado Heavenly Treat was born!

I also tried a few different herbs, then ended up using Chipotle seasoning. It compliments the incredibly smooth flavor of the agave and key lime juice. I used a little, but if you love Chipotle, yo+u can always use more.

Start by slicing a medium or large avocado in half (I love this so much I use a large). Do not peel the skin off and leave the seed in the other half until you are ready to use it. In the half without the seed, place it on a serving plate ready to assemble.

Spoon the Key Lime Juice in the center of the avocado. Then spoon the agave on top of the lime juice. Let it sit for 1 minute to help the two meld together.

Sprinkle the chipotle seasoning on top and a little on the plate. Now take your spoon and enjoy all the deliciousness from this wonderful little treat! Enjoy and I bet you can’t eat just one half!

Yield: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Rest Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 6 minutes

  • 1 medium or large avocado, seed not removed (do not scoop out)
  • 1 Tbsp. organic blue agave
  • 2 Tbsp. Key Lime juice
  • 1/2 Tsp. chipotle seasoning
  • Chopped chives for garnish (optional)


  1. Cut your avocado in half, leaving the skin on and do not scoop out. Leave the seed in the other half you are not using until ready to use.
  2. Place the lime juice first in the cavity, then add the agave on top. Let rest for a minute to help meld the flavors. The lightly mix together.
  3. Sprinkle the top with chipotle seasoning, or you can also use Mrs. Dash. As an option, chop up some chives, adding as a garnish.
  4. Salt & pepper to taste (optional)


This makes a great brunch or snack as well. The blend of agave and Key Lime juice is the secret. *Key Lime juice can be purchased on Amazon. Check your local stores as well.
